Are you interested in learning how to create and transform school libraries into learning environments offering all types of resources and services? Do you want to discover how reading programmes are designed and implemented in the centres? Would you like to select and recommend literature in all types of forms and formats to children and teens? Do you want to develop social projects that can have an effect on the reading habits of citizens?
If you form part of the professional group of primary and secondary school teachers, librarians and information specialists, mediators and cultural promoters, or leisure activity monitors, cultural managers and publishing house professionals, this master's degree is for you!

Because It is the only official master's degree of its kind in Catalonia and Spain, and is officially recognised by the Ministry for Education for its teaching profile of "School Library and Reading".
The subjects, offered by lecturers specialised this field from different departments of the UAB and the UB, combine online activities with classroom-based lectures which include renowned professionals, visits to centres and cultural outings.
This Master's degree will provide you with the training needed to direct a school library or the children's section of a public library, work in resource centres or as a social and cultural entertainer, in publishing houses and as a qualified professional in assessing educational syllabi in public administration posts or in other social initiatives related to the promotion of reading among society.
